Louis Sognot was a French designer best known for his elegant furniture made from a combination of rattan and wood

Sognot was influenced by Art Deco and Cubism aesthetics, giving his work a unique stylistic touch while still being usable

Born on May 25, 1892 in Paris, France, Sognot studied at École Bernard-Palissy before working as a designer at the Au Printemps department store in Paris in 1919

The designer became a founding member of the Union des Artistes Decorateurs. He died in 1970 in Paris, France.
