Enhanced by Justin Masson (1882-1959) who worked for Longwy from 1900 to 1956
The enhancers are true artists in their own right for some. Often their initials appear on the back of the enamel pieces. We note the appearance of the initials of the enhancers in the period of the 1930s, hence a lack of knowledge of the previous ones but whose work was what made the success of the Faïencerie. Their work consists of highlighting the design by applying a 2nd layer of enamel (essence or water) on the first which will give dimension and volume to the design of the piece. The quality of the enhancement will determine whether the same piece will be beautiful or not!
Shaped pieces of this quality, decorated with parrots and limited to so few examples, are rare. Decorative plates are more common. How many of this model remain today?
Excellent condition !
