By DAUM (Nancy)
Wrought-iron mount strongly attributed to Edgar BRANDT
France, circa 1910–1915
A rare and refined French pendant chandelier featuring a blown double glass shade suspended from its original wrought-iron frame
The shade is signed “Daum + Nancy” (see photo), with a signature consistent with the 1910–1915 period
The wrought-iron mount is strongly attributed to Edgar Brandt, based on the well-documented artistic collaboration between Daum and Brandt during the early 20th century, the refinement of the forged ironwork, and the fact that Brandt’s lighting fixtures were most often unsigned. The elegant scrollwork and balanced proportions are characteristic of Brandt’s early production, bridging Art Nouveau and emerging Art Deco aesthetics

About Edgar Brandt
Edgar Brandt (1880–1960) was the foremost French master of artistic wrought iron in the early 20th century.
