Marcel Bouraine (1886–1948) was an important French Art Deco sculptor known for his elegant depictions of dancers, athletes, theatrical figures, and mythological subjects. Active mainly in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s, Bouraine worked with several well-known foundries and publishers of the Art Deco period.
His sculptures, produced in bronze, spelter, and mixed materials, are admired for their dynamic movement, refined modeling, and decorative sophistication. To diversify production and distribution, Bouraine occasionally used pseudonyms such as Derenne, Denis. and Briand. Today, his works are highly sought after by collectors of French Art Deco sculpture and decorative arts.
